Salt HarvestersThe first Salt Harvester build by RovD was manufactured in 1967 and had a direct take-off of 80 tons per hour (TPH). Over the years each machine grew from its predecessor and the customer’s requirements.
Today with the inclusion some advanced technologies the modern day Salt Harvester build by RovD is quiet different from its beginnings. Today the customer has a choice of highly efficient turbo-charged, twin turbo and/or super-charged diesel engines to cope with high altitude and high ambient temperatures take are common with the salt industry. The harvesters as with most mobile machinery is solely hydro-statically driven with the aid of oil coolers in high ambient temperature environments. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) are available on certain models or as per customer requirements. These controllers allow for automated start-up, shut-down and other routine procedures. The largest unit manufactured to-date has a direct take-off in excess 1000 TPH.
